Solar prominence 21 March 2010

Hi all

Once again I was dodging clouds this morning with my second go at my new Lunt 60mm H-alpha scope.
I got quite frustrated as I was only able to image in very brief periods - 30 seconds at best. I was not able to get into a groove with learning the exposure rates, gamma and tuning! Maybe next time!
I did manage to capture a disc and prom image.

Image one - clouds!
Image two - with DMK 31, 2.5 Powermate and processed in Registax5, disc and prom blended in PSP.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks Mike - I would have loved a longer session.
Here is another one from the session - I think it is the remains of AR 1056 and a nice filament.

Great little eruption. The surface detail certainly has depth!
