M44 - stx/fsq106n

Hello everyone

This next STX image is of M44. I cropped much of the 4deg x 4deg FOV out as it detracted from the main object. I really like this cluster, and the colours came out really well. This was straight RGB, 2 hours each and the image got treated with Star Spikes Pro. Normally I would refrain from this unless they were natural, but I think they fit.

I hope you it and thanks for looking as always
cheers
Martin

Brilliant shot Martin..

Plenty of small galaxies hidden in there too.. Surprising considering no Luminance..

Hi Martin, this turned out really nicely!!
Yes, lovely colours and a very very crisp image.
The spikes look really, very natural, even RC look alikes.

Nice job indeed for an open cluster (my least favourite DS object)

Rich

the thing that really got me after the star colours was the tiny galaxies - what a ripper of a shot
