Eq6 synscan question

I've been trying o use the PAE function on the synscan. The instructions in the manual appear to be for a previous version and dont work.In this version PAE is on the utilities menu but there are no instructions. I tried to use it but after centering the close star and pressing enter it does not seem to do anything. can anyone tell me the steps i should be taking.

One thing to check is that you have the latest version of the firmware loaded into the hand controller. I seem to recall they introduced a simpler version of this making it a hotkey function that was not present in the older versions.

Yes i have that document but it does not show PAE on the utilities menu as mine is, also holding down the escape key when centred on a star does not result in anything. I figure that since PAE is on the utilities menu this version of synscan might be different??? Or im doing something wrong??

It only works if you are in the main menu on the Synscan.
Hold down "esc" for 2 sec, it will ask to re-center star, then press enter to finish.

Thanks Rodney i'll try that next time .Do you know why PAE is on the utilities menu , its not shown on the printed instructions.

There was a software change at some stage and I think they moved it around.
Also make sure you have the latest version of the hand controller firmware installed, as there was a bug in earlier versions. You can download it from the SkyWatcher web site.
