what aperture is needed to resolve M97
Hi all, as some of you may know I have been researching what size reflector I will need to approach but not exceed the performance of John Herschel's 18" metal mirror that he used in South Africa.
Today I found his sketch of M-97 and it bears a striking resemblance to how I see M-13 in my 8" reflector which looks remarkably like a golf ball to me.
Has anyone who is reading this resolved M-97 as clearly as a golf ball and if you have, with what aperture?
