M45 remote...

Hi guys

Finally got the wireless remote system working on the EQ6 last night. It was *COLD* I tell you - hence the need for remote playing Took 5 x 10 min subs of M45 and decided to nip out and check all the bits were still there. Only thing not frozen were the two scopes!! Anyway, here's the result, imaged while sitting indoors in front of a nice log fire (yeah, I know it's b*****y summer down there - don't rub it in )

Beautiful shot Arthur, I love the "hazy" look to the nebula.

Hi all

Thanks for the nice comments (anyway actually, it's upside down down where you are, sorry )

The FR I use is a Paul Rini design, fits into a 2" nosepiece and has a T thread on the end. It's SO much better than the Celestron/Meade 6.3 offerings that I'm getting rid of mine in preference to this. I think I paid about US$45.00 all told for it. Excellent price, no?

What snow? Jeez It was only a test run of the system, I had to focus manually because I sold the 1209 and haven't built me a replacement yet!! (took me a while to figure out where the knobs were too... )

Next time I'm going deeper - maybe 30 min subs - but now I have the ED80 to play with as well. Decisions! But this little 80 FD is really a nice scope to image with.

Arthur
