Milky Way Wide Field

The sky was clear but the air very moist so set up 150snon lxd55 mount 80x400 for guide scope. But you guessed it when all set up the storm front appeared so I took this wide field, 180 secs, 800 iso and guided it manually which I dont usually bother with for wide field but I had not dialed in polar alignment. It was warmish and even at 180 secs you can notice the amp glow starting. But I was very happy cause I thought the moisture would not let me get anything. Great practice at setting up and putting away Milky Way is to the left and the Large Magelan Cloud upper right.

Alex in another post somewhere Tornado33 had eluded to some software or a plugin to photoshop to remove the ampglow.

Apart from that very nice. I hope to be able to do some stuff when the weather clears - eventually

Very nice shot Alex,
Great job hand guiding too. There is a lot of detail here.
I had a little play with your image and it came up well especially the LMC.
Do you mind if I post it here?

Cheers Alex,

Althogh I'm still learning as I go too.
Have learned so much since I joined IIS.

All I did was adjust the dark levels in Photoshop.
Cropped the edge to get rid of amp glow.
Used Gradient-Xterminator to even out the background.

I love how you have captured the LMC. Well done for 180sec.

Nice image Alex, The Milky Way is still my favorite object to look at, it's awsome.

Can't wait for you to get good polar alignment and better seeing.

Hi Alex

Way to go . A very nice wide field.

The Ampglow is easily dealt with using dark subtraction.

Cheers
