Mars, Feb 26

All,

Here is an IR image of Mars taken on the evening of the 26th in very poor conditions.

and here's the IR-G-B version. Doesn't really add much but it's always nice to see it in colour :-)

re Mars

Good pic,well done!

I have been spending considerable time at the eye piece,viewing Mars.

I eventually got to see some detail,including the polar ice cap at the bottom.Its very usefull to use these pics of more advanced astronomers,to referance what i see.Suprising what a good quality 4 inch refractor does reveal in moments of good seeing,I used a Naglar 7mm T6 with 2 times barlow,to get a peak at Mars.

Looking good Bird,

Thing are only going to get better with Mars over the next several years. Looking forward to July 2018 24.3 arc sec's and at a decent altitude.
