Anyone went to see them? Was at the ANZ Stadium last night for the last gig of the three. Still got my ears buzzing

Yes, saw them in Melbourne.
Sound was atrocious for the support bands, and not as loud as I remember for AC/DC on other occasions. Still a great show, will be sad when they eventually stop touring.

I went along Saturday night and had an absolute ball. Far and away the best rock concert I have been too, and there have been plenty.

What was impressive, for all thier bad press, was the efforts of City Rail to move everyone in and out of the event with a minimum of fuss. I normally drive out to Homebush but on Saturday night I did the runaway train (pun intended) and it was no highway to hell (ok another pun) just a smooth ride, ok a little packed from Homebush to Central but you get that, and very efficient. Alot better than the car park at P1 and getting back out on Parramatta Road would have been.

Only one yobbo climbing a marquee and getting pelted with water bottles otherwise the crowd was extremely well behaved. Ohhh and there were some people around us smoking some strange smelling herb...... mary something or other I think they call it.

Yeah I enjoyed it thoroughly too so did my 16yr old boy. The little runaway train cartoon at the beginning was well done. It's all over youtube if anyone's interested. The consistent thing with AC/DC is certain deafness the following day, no matter where they play. I saw them playing the entertainment center years ago and it was loud. Too loud for a closed venue... Last night was better outdoors. Iron Maiden was awesome though when they played the Acer Arena and that was packed but it's a different sound. Best live sound I've ever heard to date must have been Judas Priest though, hands down.

Incidentally, the name of the latest CD, comes from warnings of black ice that Angus Young remembers on Radio Clyde in Scotland, he said he liked the idea that it conveyed something that was invisible, but deadly

A mate of mine used to work on PAs and told me that 'back in the day' they couldn't us wedges across the front of the stage for foldback (too many punters jumping up on stage) so all the foldback was side-fill. Basically they had three 'front of house'-sized rigs. One pointed out to the audience (and naturally was bloody loud) and the other two - equally loud - were on either side of the stage pointing at the band.

Anyone remember the John Watts album called 'Going deaf for a living'

Actually the local rag recently had an article pointing out that it was in Wollongong the they had their first success. Apparently they had done about 6 gigs before they were booked at Corrimal (a suburb of Wollongong) Community Hall, earning $50 for the gig. They went down so well that they were booked for another 10 gigs. That was in 1974 and I was living about 1km from the hall but never heard anything about them until a couple of years later. So they aren't my fault!!

Frank (hubbie) and I had tickets for Monday (22nd) - but alas he isn't home from his overseas work adventure yet.

I got in a girly huff and gave them to my brother-in-law and 23 year old nephew. Late (expensive) Chrissie pressies I guess!! (ps I am an idiot ). They had a blast (literally).

Got my front row mosh pit tickets for Brizzy's first show on Thursday night.
Can't wait, my favourite band and having Friday off work as me and 5 mates are going to tear up town later in the night to celebrate.
We all call it " Fried friday" .

I think some of you might remember the former front man from AC/DC was Bon Scott
His statue is in Fremantle, where he is also buried.

I went to the Saturday night concert in Melbourne.
I thought the audio engineer looking after the sound had a bit to answer for.
Then again the "Etihad Stadium" isn't what I would call an acoustical hall either and would have been a nightmare to balance.
Wolfmother were poor IMHO.
Brian Johnson was out of time/synch early when he walked down the runway - I am not sure if his earpiece was was working properly.
Was it as good as the last one I went to in 2001 at the Tennis Centre in Melbourne? - No
Did I enjoy it otherwise? - Yes
Gotta love ACDC
Angus was excellent even though he reminded me of Gollum out of LOTR when he stripped down to his shorts.

Sorry about the quality of the pic attached of the concert but the mobile phone is a poor substitue for a camera.

Overall it was a good night - the worst part was trying to get out of the stadium and get back over to Spencer Street to get the car.

A close second was the asian busker playing his garbage bin drum kit and blowing his whistle his outside the stadium.
