Question Night vision good for starparty

I saw these reviewed in PC USER and I wondered if anyone thought they would be good for a starparty to avoid tripping over tent ropes and other obstructions like telescope mounts.

You might not trip over things while walking around, but what will it do to your night vision? The video shows the display uses green light. Not a good idea.

Is it me? No! They are advertising it like a kids toy and a tool for stalkers.

Oh Dear,

After watching the video where the kid "steals" the donut from the bench it seems to me the only use these would have is "amusement" only.

It says Infrared, but from the look of them I think Red LED is probably more accurate.

Plus the fact, you would look like a berk.

Stick with a red led headtorch, 30 bucks from coles or cheaper elsewhere.

Cheers

Chris
