Brisbane Startrails

As I'm without my EQ6 at the moment while I await parts to arrive from the US I decided to give startrails a go last night. This image is taken from my back deck in Brisbane, not far from the CBD. The image is a stack of 20x5 minute images using my 400D, ISO800 f/4.

Thanks for looking, comments or tips welcome.

Nice work Peter – a brave effort indeed from the light polluted ‘burbs!

Cheers

Thanks Dennis. I haven't tried this before so wasn't sure if the light pollution was going to be an issue or not. Despite the huge gradient I quite like the colours.

Thanks for the comments Troy and Jeanette.

I might give it another try tonight with lower ISO setting and a shorter gap between the exposures. I might also try to get three hours worth now that I know what to expect.

Hi Peter
Great one!
Were you looking north or south - I am too lazy to work it out for myself!
I am in Paddington so I know the challenges of light pollution!

Came out pretty well considering the light pollution. Well done.

I see you still have that drift in your photos but it seems a little worse since you did the hypertune
