I really want to come, the kids (on holidays) are really getting on my nerve. But after cutting out the 4th melanoma about a month ago, I think i about time I become a bit more selective. Gonna try and get equiped with more sun protection. Weird though just received my solar filters couple of weeks ago.

Not me this weekend, I'm looking forward to some astronomy at home on Sat night, got the wide field scope all set up to continue with my 350D imaging there Too hot and dry for me to bother. I'll be back at Tammin in April, after Feb being away and March being my brother's wedding.

yes temp today 38 and expected 41 tommorow for the drive home only maddogs and englishman go out in the midday sun. Well I suppose I'm a bit of both

Roll on winter dark sky trips you only have to worry about the cold then

Yes checklist complete

Flies, heat and wind made it lousy and th RC didn't like the wind so a wasted night imaging but company was good and sky was magnificient even popped an EP in for a quick viewing session before crashing about 2:30am up by 5:30 sleeping in the car has knobs on it, might need to invest in one of those observing tents probably act as a wind break and provide somewhere to sleep

Sorry to hear was a bad day for camera work. As far as a tent I went couple of times ago and on the way I purchaced this tent - http://www.raysoutdoors.com.au/produ...ning+3+Tent/33 While everyone was fiddling around 3 seconds later mine was up.
Only 1 disadvantage with it was not a very thick covering, so at 8:00am was quite hot.

Don't buy the 2 person as it is a bit tight on the space. I also have 2 larger 3 person tents mostly for longer stays.

Thanks for sharing the pics Trevor. Good to see. Shame about the wind. Last night was better here than Friday night, no doubt about that, but still gusts.

Gez you were keen going out there at 1pm!

Roger.

Unlikely Sean. Fox numbers are up when rabbit numbers are up, and during summer both crash in numbers due to low resources etc. Last time I was there we saw one manky one in the distance which I suspect is gone now. But never know.

no more foxes i havn't seen one there in the last 3 months or so. i think its because of my good scare the fox tactics yell scream and run at em like a 28 days later zombie he ran for about 20 meters, stopped then i charged again... last i saw of the fox *little bit of fluff on chin :S*

the night wasn't a write off at all! My little ED80 is a wind beast i would have had great photos from both nights, but user error on night one trounced that effort note to self. check settings more than once.
