Sleep Cycle...

Well, because of my new interest in amateur astronomy, I had to stay up for a long time. Because of this change in my sleep cycle, I wake up in the early afternoon!! My sleep cycle is ultimately screwed and I have school starting next week. I tried waking up early but nothing can get me out of bed... NOTHING!! Is there anyone that eventually overcame this problem??

Thanks,
Tony

You'll be right when you get back to school, I guarantee a couple of long days sitting through the class room tired will have you in bed early and reset your sleep patterns again

If you find out how to fix the problem, tell me. I am up until around 3 or 4 every morning then sleep until 7 then off to work. Photography, astrophotography, bushwalking, processing...the cycle never ends....

I'll just add a note about this because someone in my family has it:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circadi...sleep_disorder

It's totally different to having a temporary change in your sleep cycle though which you will be able to reset and adjust back when your lifestyle changes.

I bet there are a lot of night owls out there who have this tho and have never heard of it so thought I would put it up out of interest

When you get a job, you'll get over it, because you'll get sacked if you stay in bed. Then no money for telescope gear.

Go to bed half an hour earlier each night.

I've had insomniac sleeping issues for a while now...

I find it helps to lower your stimulants at night

A few things I do each night before bed:

-watch less tv before you go to bed
-dont play computer games
-dont drink soft drinks, cups of coffe or tea

I also go for a bike ride every afternoon now straight after work for a bit of excersice.

I would say that staying up late at night to star gaze would higher your stimulants in your body though as is something that is exciting and gets the heart pumping... oh well

good luck, you should be fine once you know you have school the next day!
