Transporting astromaster 130eq

Hi there everyone.

I'm planning to go up to gisborne again this weekend for better seeing as my old folks have a bit of land up there. how is a good way to transport. Last time i took it i put the optic tube back into its box with the styrofoam and wrapped it all in a huge doona for extra padding, but i dont have the box for it now as my hubby piffed it accidentally.

cheers guys

Wrapping it in the doona should be fine, and making sure it doesn't roll about. You can't help a little bit of shaking in the car but the scope should be tough enough to take a few vibrations. You really just want to avoid any big shocks.

thanx for that. glad to hear the doona should be enough, il make sure i wrap it good. Theres not a whole lota room in my boot anywya, its only a hatch, so the doona should stop it moving at all.

The doona will then serve as a wrap if things begin to get cool during the evenings observing!
