Goanna

Came across this wonderful specimen of a Goanna on one of our trips in the bush. My wife got to within 1.5 meters of the lizard. He/she was about 1 meter long and at one stage was very threatening, walking sideways stiff legged and tail held very stiff, but he/she settled down after awhile and allowed us to photograph him/her.

Great pic Adrian.
Yes, I have these fellas (monitors) wandering around my yard frequently, not scary now that I'm used to them.

Thats nothing I have actually seen her walk up to one and pick it up using nothing but an Akubra to distract it.
