AR1035 10 January 2010

Hi All,

Here's AR 1035 for a second time around, aka AR 1040.

Taken at about 1630 on 10-1-2010.

I varied the etalon setting to get difference views of the same region.

Cheers
Stuart

Hi again
I noticed on my image of this region that there was a dark region north of 1040 - I initially thought it was a processing issue - but it is in all images I have seen - even here http://www.spacew.com/sunnow/
Very clear in your image 2 at about 4 o'clock on the limb.
I have not seen this before - any thoughts?

Well, it's certainly there...

As to what it is I'm not even going to venture a guess, not my area.

I just take pictures, I'm only just scratching the surface of solar astronomy.

Cheers
Stuart
