LBN1022, vdB 87 region in Monoceros

I had to take this image because of a newly found nebula discovered by
Jim Thommes. I had planned on imaging this region anyway because of
vdB87 but Jim beat me to it. The nebula does not appear in the POSS
plates and is being studied by the team in Hawaii lead by Bo Reipurth.
Nothing is official yet but I am pretty excited for Jim.
It is a pretty region on Monoceros none to less; and of course there
is lots of dust!!

Happy Holidays to you all down under.

Spectacular image Tom and as you mentioned this one has the lot in it.

A bit like a celestial Christmas tree.

Cheers

Tom,

Once again, a ripper image.

I just love the soft processing and the star colours.

Awesome field.

Beautiful as always.. I too have been very excited for Jim, there has been a lot of talk over at cloudy nights regarding this, and I must say it definitely looks promising for Jim..

Great image Tom, Happy holidays to you, I hope you get a chance to do some more imaging over the holidays.

That is a great image Tom. I saw NGC 2316 about a year back.
