New 'L' lens test pics

Well i was pleased to buy another L lens, after doing some reserch, and

thinking of what i would like to use it for ,i decided on the canon

70-200 mm L F2.8 non IS,it arrived and i took a few test pics in the shed.

The focus is great,i took photo of trap, one of its jaws, the another of writting on back plate.a few other odds and ends lying in places, not
well lit,

I plan to use this lens on many jobs that the lightings' not the best in.so

that was the reason for F 2.8 version.

Thanks for looking, and i hope these may be of interest.

regards Chris

Can I just say that you have the coolest shed I've ever seen. I could spend hours photographing some of that stuff you have there.

I also just had a chuckle to myself about your chicken shots. You know on POTN there's a tradition that whenever someone buys a new lens, you have to post a picture of a duck. Have a search over there in the lens section of the forum for ducks and you'll see what I mean. Maybe you're trying to start a new tradition here with chooks?

RE-new lens

Thanks Gary and Troy.

Yes,the shed collection gets many comments,i have enjoyed collecting

over the years, many of the items are very old,but what i like most is

that they can all still be used as manufacturer intended, the anvil gets

used,The cauldron is used like a camp oven,i had some ladies go into

'la la' land when they saw it!,they wanted me to send a pic of it into

some magazine called 'spellcraft' and apparently its in the current issue

page 9,

RE-chook/rooster tradition for new lens purchasers on IIS,

'so moet it be'

regards Chris

That lens looks to be 'the goods', Chris

Especially if those images have come straight from the camera with no processing?

I'm really happy for you, because I know you've had a few ups and downs with gear in recent times.

re lens test

Yes, Matt, pics straight out of camera,no ppp, i posted them delibratly

with no ppp,so as to see what peoples' views were on the pics it spits out.

most of pics in shed-dull light,some at F 2.8,others at F 4,iso 100,around

half a second for most,or similar on tripod, timer on.

Yes,my fault re-poor equipment choice earlier in year.,i should have known better and done my homework.i tried to get out of getting good
optics too cheaply.

anyhow thanks for looking everyone.
