Summer Soltice

Yes, tis the day of the Summer Solstice, which occurred at 0447 this am.
This is when the Sun is at its most southerly position for the year, and is the longest day of the year for those in the Southern Hemisphere.

Liz,

How long is the longest day in Townsville? I don't think it varies much from 12 hours up there. According to IIS today will be 14h 28' for me. Strange, work feels like it has gone on for much longer than that.

That makes our day today ..... 13 hrs and 18 minutes!!!
What is it for Sydney ... much difference?

Sydney - sunrise 05.41 sunset 20.06 - nearly 15 hrs!! (per weatherzone)
