Hi Dave! I use X-Cel eyepieces (20mm & 8mm) and all I can say is that they work great for me, in an f8 reflector. Nice sharp views, no 'seagulls' at the edge of the field. They're pretty expensive in Aust IMO, and I bought mine a few years ago from the States, at about $AU80-odd each compared to the going price at the time of around $AU200 in Australia. X-Cels are often referred to as good planetary eyepieces, but I have no idea what that means.
Celestron say that they're parfocal, but it's not quite perfect and a miss is as good as a mile if you've to tweak the focus (ie not parfocal, LOL!).
Hope that helps!
Cheers -
