The dangers of Macro

Went to the little bush park on my street on the weekend to do some macro imaging of whatever I could find.

Started out by being stung on the arm by one of thoe really large black and red wasps and then had a tick bite me on my side and it is still sore and made me sick.

So just beware macro imagers that the subjects you are imaging don't seek recourse when you are in their territory.

PS. I will not be attempting to image a funnel web spider anywhere in the near future.

WoW!! What a combo Frank! A wasp and a tick, that has to hurt. Sorry to hear that you got sick. I will heed your warnings.

I've been bitten by a huntsman, black house spider, wolf spider and white tailed spider, as well as countless mozzies and also leeches.

Sorry to hear that, Frank. Hope you recover quickly.

I've been fortunate enough to avoid anything nastier than a mozzie bite. But I haven't shot spiders other than a few jumping, lynx, and crab spiders. Dave is a little more adventurous than I am.

I was told that all the rain we've had has bought the ticks out.

Doesn't seem too bad. Reacts well to antibiotics, no lasting effects, lasts no longer than 2 weeks, and most people are immune to it after being bitten once. Some of the symptoms do look famililar, maybe I have been bitten lol...
