Large Sunspot on SOHO Image!!!!!!!

The SOHO image ( See LHS panel) is showing one of the largest sunspots I've seen in a long time!!!
This should be an easy object for white light solar filters........

( No chance of seeing anything in the UK!!)

LOL I just assumed it was a dirt spot on the puter monitor.
Here's hoping for clear skies tomorrow. I'd love to nab that one.

I must admit that I gave the monitor screen a bit of a rub over the Sun to clear away those smudges!!

looks sort of promising here. Lots of clouds but also lots of sucker holes.
Reckon I could squeeze a few exposures in.
Going to set up once I've got a cuppa tea into me.

... the sunspots look bigger today on the IIS screen to the left ... I still find myself giving them a rub as look like specks of dirt.
Whats the easiest and cheapest ways to check these out in an ordinary scope?

Relatively clear here on the north coast. We have a bit high whispy
cloud coming through but are able to observe the sun spot group.
Which appears to be made up of two large with about half a dozen
or so minor spots, almost looks like a chain of islands. There is a large
surface filliment near the center of the disc and another bright area
on the eastern limb.

Looking forward to o'l Sol in the clear as it is nice to see some action
on it. Observing with PST

Yesterday, for no apparent reason, I set up my little 90 MAK with sun filter and was amazed to see, what turns out to be, my first live sunspot(s). (other than those that I have regularly burnt off my skin )
WOW!
I too at first thought it was an ant or something had managed to get on the lens.
But soon came to believe it was indeed one of the recently illusive spots.
Now that it is confirmed on this thread I am feeling really chuffed for a rank amature!!!

a nice break in the weather and am looking at the spots now easy visable objects the upper is much larger and there is a dark ring around it as if it where a creater on the moon then on the outside of the creater is several more dark pinpoint spots and the lower one is much smaller but as i wait for good seeing it also shows a ring around it with a couple af pin point spots on the outer. the smaller one is about 1/3 the size of the larger one and a bloody beautiful sight to see
