hi all this is a shot of jupiter with a 6"sct and a nextimage web cam
it was a 2 minute exposer at 10 fps

ps should it be the blury if not how can i fix it.

Hey Trevor,

Not being an expert at any kind, although have also recently begun some average planetary imaging.

I"d say your focus is slightly off.

Second, with Jupiter you should limit your image captures to about 1 minute as the planet rotates that fast, any longer leads to features of the planet to streak, can also make it look like your focus is off.

But I say in all honesty, your images are better than my early ones. Keep at it.

thanks for your help i try to be more prosise with focussing and limit the time to 1 minute would feild rotation afect it because its on an alt az mount?

Trevor, This is a good beginning. As Darren advises, careful focus is important. This can be difficult when the seeing isn't the best, so take your time. There is also some misalignment of the colours (eg in the first image it is Blue at the top and Red at the bottom ) this may be improved or fixed in later processing however, but something is causing it and it is probably better to deal with it at the source if you can.
How are you processing the avi files?? (which software do you use?)
With your scope and Jupiters current apparent size I wouldn't expect 2min captures would be a problem.
You are starting on Jupiter at a difficult time, but if you keep trying, what you learn will really help you in the future

How is it so big? The neximage is only 640x480, but those images are much bigger than that.

use registax to processe i find it hard to focuse because the focuser is so sencitive

i use photo shop to resize them. so far it hasnt afected the quality of the shots (i dont think) but for terrestrial view it dosnt work to well
