Scopetronix MaxView II plus MaxPower Barlow

Great value at $180 AUD!!! Buyer pays shipping.

This great Scopetronix combo of Maxview II eyepiece with a Maxpower lens (1.6x nosepiece barlow) is designed for afocal astrophotography with markedly reduced vignetting. I am also including a MaxView II attachment adaptor for a Canon S2/S3/S5 IS.

These were only purchased in May 2009 with great intentions of being used for afocal astrophotography, but instead I went down the webcam prime focus path. The Maxview II eyepiece has only been used twice! The Maxpower barlow has been used quite a bit more though (stacked with a traditional 2x barlow for extra magnification), but is still in very good order and has no scratches on the coatings. The whole package cost me $340 USD (including shipping) only 6 months ago, so someone could get a bargain here!

*** PLEASE NOTE: This is a 2-inch eyepiece designed for 2-inch focusers! ***

Scopetronix MaxView II:
Focal Length = 40mm
AFOV = 55 Degrees
Field Stop = 43mm
Maximum Effective Eye Relief = 36mm Minimum Effective Eye Relief = Fully Adjustable
Barrel Size = 2.0"
Thread Size = 58mm
Coatings = Fully Multicoated (each air to glass surface has multiple anti-reflection coatings)
Optical Design=3 element/2 group

Maxpower Lens:
Special telenegative lenses designed to increase the effective magnification of the MaxView line of digital camera eyepieces while maintaining the desirable characteristics of the MaxView such as minimal vignetting. Using a regular barlow lens can often overpower your setup and introduce a significant amount of additional vignetting or other unwanted abberations. Useful both visually and photographically they increase magnification approximately 60% (1.6x). This will make a 40mm MaxView behave like a 25mm MaxView, and still retain the desirable properties of the 40mm.
