moonage

My first moonage in months.
This is a stack of 25 frames at 250th sec @ iso100.
Scope ED80
Camera Canon 20d
Mount Tower of Terror

The main reason for taking the image was to give first light to my new T-Connector. Santa has come early and bought me one of those new Hotech adaptors from Steve at MyAstroShop.

It's an awesome piece of kit.
Holds that camera in the focuser tight.
Can't wait wait to get out and use it again.

Nice one, Jeanette.

Looks a little brown/pink on my (calibrated) screen...but still a nice image Plenty of detail and nice phase.

We got a little of it. Not enough to get the camera out...although I had it at the ready

We could sure do with more rain. Our backyard is looking very sad.

Nice image JJJ.
I found myself staring at it for a while to take in the lovely detail you captured.

Good work.

Of course you can do it Malcolm.
Just put a 20mm ep in your dob, take a camera, any camera, butt the lens up to the eyepiece, adjust the focus on the scope (not the camera) and click.
If you have manual control on your camera, you'll probably want to play with the settings a little. ISO 100 for 1/180th or 1/250th of a sec.
