They did it better, back then

It's all about things that matter, from the heart.

None of this gangsta, booty shaking, attitude & angst laden, synthesised nonsense that passes for music these days.

He ain't heavy, he's my brother

Awesome hair and clothes.

It's a beautiful song. Tears me apart though. I was carer for my bro during his last few months.

Thank goodness that artists such as Janis Joplin lived in an era where raw musical talent was much more important than the visual aspect which dominates todays' music.

Imagine Janis trying to break into the music world today.
We would never have known her talents.

A few yeards ago this band (I think they were a NZ Band) went on tour in Aust, it was called the Pink Floyd show or something like that. They had all the gear and did the best bits from all the albums and it was just great. Mind you it would have been better if I had them to myself in my softly lit living room just enjoying the atmosphere but you cant have everything right.

1988, Brisbane Entertainment Centre.
Standing room only tickets, $15 at the door.
But we were sitting on carpeted steps, very comfy indeed. And quite close to the stage too.
