NGC-2244 Rosette.

This one is from 2 sets of data taken a month apart, both groups from 10 chain hill. Again the overscan area of the qhy8 frame has caught me out hence the image is heavily cropped and the little lines on stars are back

I've also just realised you can group data in dss so it uses different flats and bias shots for each group

Takahashi FS-102 @ F6 QHY8. 6x1200 and 10x600.

Yep, need to reduce the stars on the 20minute exposures.
But that looks like the last qhy8 image, I think it's sold

Came out pretty good in the end Robin. I always love to see a nice Rosette.

Very nice Robin, 20 minute subs are probably a bit much for the QHY8 ,particularly if seeing or guidig are a little off. Stars will bloat quite easily, I know I have been guilty of the same. Often better to drop the exposures down to 10 minutes, keep things under control and doesn't over saturate the stars on the CCD.

Talking Ha. I remember a Ha image of Rosey that Peter Ward did and then used as a luminance channel on a LRGB image. It would be a good one as a reference image. It was magnificent.

Glad you have sold the 8. What is next ccd on the burner? I'm sticking with the QHY8 for a while myself.

I'll try a bigger mono but thought I'd wait till the dust settles and see what happens. Starlight also have an 8300 chip camera coming but it won't be a cheapy. They make nice cameras too.
