Angry Maxim DL EE and batch processing

I have installed this program to run the Orion OSC camera I recently acquired. When it comes time to process the fits files it won't let me use the batch function to process subs. It throws up an error message that an unsupported operation was attempted. Is this because the Essentials Edition has the batch function crippled? The manual states that it can be used, what gives?

NB. Tried it on 2 laptops with XP SP3 and Vista, same result.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Mark, I'll just have to look at alternatives. Might give Nebulosity a shot.

Agreed, I never managed to get batch processing to work untill I upgraded to Maxim DL Pro v5... Mind you, I rarely use that function now... I generally acquire the images in MaximDL, stack using CCDStack or DSS depending on how lazy I'm feeling, take the stacked images back into MaximDL for registration and DDP.. Then move the registered, DDP'd images to Photoshop for processing.. I found for a lot of things, maxim seems clunky and a little out-dated...

Thanks Alex. The problem was that you could only convert half a dozen fits subs to colour files before you got memory errors with maxim even with 2 gig ram. Nebulosity can batch convert these before stacking in DSS. Just looking at establishing a simpler workflow.

DSS will do it with the click of a button during the stacking procedure mate... You're adding an unnecessary step to your workflow.
