I love Storms.
I try and photograph them every oportunity I get.
Here are a few recent storms that have come through the central coast or Newcastle region this year.
The first was a late cell from last season that came through Newcastle in late June. It was out to sea by the time I shot this image, but the top of the anvil showed wonderfully.
The second was a small but intence cell that passed just a few KM south of Umina. This image was taken from Umina Beach. We had no rain at Umina but just the otherside of the water at Palm Beach and the top of Pitwater, they had an absolute downpour.
The third was the underside of the anvil and shelf from Fridays storm. The clouds at the back end of the cell were amazing
Last are some Mammatus clouds that were seen from Umina Beach from May this year. This cell had done some damage as it passed over the dividing range but by the time it reached the coast it had lost its fury. The cloud formations though were astounding.
