New QHY8 Drivers

I had to have my imaging machine repaired and the operating system re-written. Still trying to get it all up and running.
I had been using the QHY8TVDE drivers before, however, I can now not get them to work. I found the new drivers from QHY with the MaxIm plug in, which I want to try also, but how do I install, or where do I put the new drivers? There is no setup file or instructions on where to place them. Any ideas?

Hey Grey, there's an exe on Tom's website that lists and uninstall any instance of QHY* drivers. Run it to clean your drive then install again. Should be cool. I tried QHY drivers but I'm back with TVDE stuff, both for QHY5 and QHY8. Works for me so far.

For the QHY drivers use the same procedure as i made on the CD that you received with the camera.
The only thing different is the actual version of the drivers, but the way to do it is the same.
Leinad is correct, for the Maxim drivers, copy them into the Maxim directory.
There is a help file in the latest drivers for maxim anyway, which tells you how to do it.
Its called "Install.txt", so you should get back to imaging again tonight.

As for Toms (Astrosoft) drivers, Marc is correct, its all Exe install files.

I have tried all of that. I guess I'll run the tool again, but first time I tried to install was on a freshly formatted drive with no residual driver files that I know of.

Ok, so, what do I really need to install? Can you speak a bit slower for me and use actions, I'm still not understanding!

Firstly, which drivers are you going to use.
Do you want Ascom, or basic QHY drivers ?.

If you want Ascom, then you need to install Toms software (Astrosoft) http://www.astrosoft.be/ .
You also need to make sure you have Ascom installed on your system too. Make sure you select Ascom when picking the camera in Maxim DL camera selection.

If you want QHY drivers, then download QHY drivers from his site http://www.qhyccd.com/download.html , and install the drivers. There are 2 types of drivers, one is a 512 and 1024 byte buffer drivers. If your system is capable of large buffer sizes, then run the 1024B driver. Else just run the 512B driver.
Copy the Maxim drivers into the Maxim installation directory and thats it.

Mmmmm.....there seems to be three types of drivers then. QHY, ASCOM and TVDE. The ones I wanted to use are TVDE, which are definately not ASCOM.
I did a manual search of my machine and pulled out all the QHY related files that were not specific to Neb2 or MaxIm(both of which have a driver recognition file of sorts, don't know how else to put it). The tool to remove all the old drivers does not remove the ASCOM drivers it seems, for me, anyway. I then installed the set of Tom's drivers I wanted to use and now it is working fine.
I did notice that if gain and offset are not presented in Neb2, click on the advance button in the camera selection section and when that applet pops up, click the settings tab, I think it was called, and they should be there.
Thanks for the help!
