Aircable power question

Simple question for everyone on this site, a mystery for me!

I've received my Aircable from the USA, to be hooked up to David Ek's DSC box, interfaced to a Palm Lifedrive.

The Aircable came with a USB cable, which I guess provides the Aircable with 5V 500ma, standard USB power?

I want to run the Aircable off my 12v 7.5amp hour gel battery, that I use on my dob mount for the cooling fan.

What sort of small circuit/device do I need to get to cut the battery's 12V power down to 5V 500ma?

I'm thinking when I retire in 9 weeks, that I might do a course in electronics! Any suggestions?

Cheers

Chris

There are lighter plugs with USB sockets (power only naturally) on the back.

Thanks Andrew, simple really isn't it!

A quick check on ebay reveals a unit with three 12v sockets + a USB connection for $11 delivered!

Thanks again!
