Blackout Viewing Opportunity

I heard on the radio that there are blackouts somewhere out there I hope anyone with blackouts are taking advantage to get some good dark sky viewing done if that is you have clear sky's available I hope you do

Yeah, I love a good blackout. (in theory)
Trouble is,
they almost always come on the back of a huge Thunder Storm.
Or
Some poor buster has totalled his dad's car into a telegraph pole!

Give us a decent heat wave enduced blackout at midnight!
And a bit of warning would be nice too.
Oh, and if you could arrange it to coincide with the new moon please

Oh yeah its got to be one of those blackouts when no one gets hurt and we can take full advantage of it I remember when all the street lights and factory lights went out around where I live how dark it was at the time I didn't appreciate what it meant but then I hadn't got my telescope yet and hadn't caught this strange illness called astronomy yet but it was very dark and come to think of it it was a new moon.
