Found an interesting article tonight in
Science Daily entitled "
Love And Envy Linked By Same Hormone" that might explain the odd behaviours by individuals from time to time.
Particularly relevant is the comment, showing that the hormone can also have some negative effects;
"The findings show that those participants who inhaled the "hormone of love" displayed higher levels of envy when the opponent won more money and of gloating when they were ahead."
So kissing, which increases you oxytocin level (more in men mind you), or even inhaling synthetic oxytocin sounds like it might no be a good idea after all…
I know, the only time I know
my oxytocin level is rising, is when I'm out under the stars…
