Thanks everyone for their kind words, my first was 1P/ Halley in May 1986, i was 7, and its what kicked me off in Astronomy.

Theres been a lot of faint ones in there, one that i have observed twice is 73P/ S-W 3, in 1996 and 2005.
My favourite was P1 McNaught obviously, unfortunately i didn't start following comets again until 2004, i had seen the bright ones in between.
The most eerie comet was 17P/ Holmes......i couldn't describe the feeling, it was totally different from P1.

Alan Hale (of Hale-Bopp fame) is counting down to his 500th comet, he only needs 20 or so, i however have a LONG way to go!

Hi Chris,

Well done! Hope to see you up at Coona again at some time in the
near future ... certainly well before 22P comes back for its next time around.

Best regards

Gary
