A lovely evening

I have just come in from taking some time series data. Whilst the scope was busy I just spent the time looking up. The seeing was pretty crap but the transparency was amazing. I could easily see the andromeda galaxy and it is only about 18deg above the horizon for me.
A few stray meteors also sped across.
It's nice to sometimes stop looking at the computer screen or to not worry about the imaging and just take in the wonderful sky.

It's beautiful here in southern Sydney too. Totally clear and the seeing is actually quite respectable. I'm doing some guided piggy-back shots of various objects with a Nikkor 105mm f/2.5 hanging off the 350D. Very relaxing!
