m45

Here's one from tonight.
My very first m45.
7x3min @ iso800
Only 21 minutes, but there was cloud about, so it was all I could manage to get.
I love this, every object I turn my camera to is new to my set up.

It's been pretty clear down here tonight. I can see almost all 12 stars

I think tomorrow will be better ...

Oh yes, it'll clear for a little while, then they'll roll in again.
But I wasn't going to let them stop me tonight.
It's lovely to have some data to play with again. It's been ages.
Gotta get the practice in for when I start going for it properly.

Are you going to pete's next week?
I'm still trying to dry out my camera so it's working again

I don't know about next week yet Robin. It's my turn to have the Munchkins and while I don't mind bringing them along, it leaves no room for all the astro gear.

Hi Jeanette. You're really on a roll aren't you? Great series of images. Kepp 'em coming.

Tonight is supposed to be clear and fine.
And with the moon rising after midnight, I'll have a good long run.
Don't know what targets to go for though. I've been nibbling at a little bit of this and that so far.
You know how it is when you first start out.
Any suggestions?

Great work JJJ. You're cooking with your guiding now. M45 is a priority for me this year.

Hey JJJ. Do bring the kids. If you want we can bunk them down in the house or even locate you closer to the house. There's a great view of the NE-W horizon from the house yard.

Ahhh, but if I bring the kids, I can't bring all my gear. It's only a wee Kia that I drive.
I will see what I can work out over the next week.
(this weekend would have been perfect)

A remarkable shot JJJ. Sharp as. You'll need to add a lot more data to get that nebulosity out. Not an easy one.

Nice tight stars, framing good, and looks pretty flat. Did you apply flats. Good work.

Baby steps Paul. I'll get around to flats very soon.
More data will give it some oomph and I'll be able to stretch it much more.

Nice mate...

Dont want to be pushy, but Robin is right! There are four words you will have to start continuously using now that you're running longer subs.. "I Need More Exposure."

I am processing up 20hrs worth of M8 at the moment and still think it could probably have done with a weeeee bit more..
