My first macro's!

After admiring all the macro pics around here lately, I have been contemplating buying a decent macro lens. Then I remembered I had an old Vivitar adapter in a box in the shed, so I whacked a few adapters together and whacked it on the 350D. Here's the best two shots from half an hour in the front yard today.
Equipment
Canon 350D
18-55mm kit lens
Vivitar 0.42x Fisheye Video Lens Macro adapter

Not great results, but it's a start.

Not bad getting the lighting just right is one of the hard bits with macro imaging IMO

That’s great work for a first time macro portfolio. They look a little dark on my screen but certainly you’ve recorded some nice detail there.

Looks great mate!! Talk about make do with what you got!!
I am stuck trying to imitate Macro with my 200mm zoomed in full, standing at minimum focal distance. If that makes sense.
I am getting about the same magnification as you.
You captured some great details your eye never would. Great job!!

Good start Jason - pretty sharp, very good effort for a newbie. A bit too dark, but you'll get better as you get used to it all. Flies are really good to practice on - especially in the afternoon sunlight. Just don't let your shadow fall on them, don't approach too quickly, and don't make too much noise.
