Mt Cook Mono

Been revisiting some of my images captured during our June trip around the South Island. Still finding images I've yet to even begin editing.

Stumbled across this, which was captured during a walk in the national park surrounding Mt Cook.

It looked OK in colour, however I thought the high contrast called for a black and white conversion.

Thanks for looking.

Hi Matt

That’s a very dramatic repro. I think the B&W conversion makes the mountains and sky/clouds appear far more dramatic. Its overall character reminds me a little of the early B&W photos of the Mallory & Irvine expeditions to Mt Everest.

I like the drop shadow presentation too, on the white border – nice work!

Cheers

Dennis

Absolutely perfect - B&W and landscapes, good landscapes anyway, go hand in hand don't they? Love it.

Lovely shot Matt - very nice b/w repro - good clean whites, shadows dealt with well and the mids are not dirty. Good composition and lighting as well. Excellent shot.
