MilkyWay never-before-seen view NASA

NASA's Great Observatories Celebrate International Year of Astronomy.

A never-before-seen view of the turbulent heart of our Milky Way galaxy has been unveiled by NASA (Nov. 10th).

This is a collection of images from NASA's main space telescope all combined into one brilliant image (or you can view independently also).

Quote:
The bright blue blob on the left side is emission from a double star system containing either a neutron star or a black hole.
