Nice shot, Geoff, but watch your rig....looks like you have a bit of flexure or misalignment there. Nice to see the core resolved

As said previously a slight drift but it doesn't distract from the beautiful resolution and the overall shot. Very cool.

Yes I've noticed that. I'm currently upgrading so that all the camera attachment gear will have threaded connexions.

That's a stunning image
Dumb question but how can you work out there's flexure? I can only make out some elongated stars toward the left edge, is that one of the symptoms

It looks like there could be a bit of sag in the focuser. How much does the QSI weigh?

Yep. If there's some sag the camera sensor is tilted, so some parts are away from the focal plane. The elongation would be across the whole pic, but it is too small to notice on the right hand edge. It gradually gets worse as you move left and eventually becomes noticeable.

1.35 kg. I don't think it's the moonlite focuser as much as the extension tubes between focuser and camera. The basic problem is the OTA of the WO ZS110, which is too short. However I have taken steps to resolve the problem. Moonlite sell an extension flange which will effectively increase the OTA length. I'm also upgrading to threaded parts to connect the camera to the focuser.

I did not know that the scope had a moonlight focuser, sorry. I have just fitted a moonlight to my ED127 as the original focuser was a little sloppy. The moonlight is absolutely awesome.

But as I said, I think the image is very good and resolved beautifully.
