Whistling Kite (?)

Hi all,

I think this is a Whistling Kite, but if anyone has a better idea please correct me. It was in a tree overlooking Lake Cootharaba. Taken with a Pentax K100D and 70-300mm telephoto.

I think you're right, but I'm not 100% - either way, good capture.

yeh thats a tough one eh! not enough information there, but i think you are right too, its either that or the light morph little eagle, but i dont see the booties lookin right, but beak seems a tiny bit too big for WK, and i would of thought more streakin down its chest, ah well thanks for sharing good mystery

Thanks Dave and Kearn. Looks like I'll stick with the Whistling Kite labels, at least for now.

If it is a Whistling Kite, it's a juvenile. The colouration and wing patterns seem a little weak for it to be an adult.
