Question Christmas is coming !

Hi all ,

it's almost that time of year again - groan - and the kids have made mention of things they'd be happy to find in their stockings.

Some Apple items have hit the list again. I see this stuff is a fair amount cheaper in the US. Can anyone offer suggestions as to why I should or should not buy Apple stuff from overseas? I'd keep it to less than a grand, so gst wouldn't be an issue. I understand the items wouldn't have local warranty either, so it's more or less "you buy it and you takes your chance".

Are there any other issues that I should know about?

All (polite) suggestions appreciated
Cheers

Buying Apple stuff from a legitimate retailer overseas is fine. If you want to buy products from E-Bay then there is no guarantee they'll be the real thing.

I miss the days when kids were just as content getting a cricket set, model airplane/boat, dolls etc, for Christmas. Now they want stuff worth thousands and aren't content to get anything less!!!. They don't even go outside and have fun with their mates anymore, especially at Christmas. You can hear a pin drop down most streets at Christmas time, these days. The world's gone crazy!!.

Hi Matt,

thanks for that suggestion. I don't normally buy off ebay, and certainly won't be doing for these products.

Carl, yes I agree, it's a real shame. I still harbour unrealistically silly thoughts that all these MSN, iPod, SMS texting and mobile phone obsessions are just passing fads, and that sometime soon all the kids will somehow revert back to being keen on all the simpler things we used to play with when we were youngsters. But I don't think I should be holding my breath waiting. I don't think they're any better for all the things they have these days either unfortunately. Worse if anything

Paul,

Nevermind, it's a typical post: laced with negativity.

Hi Humayun,

hmmm, thanks for that. I sort of thought it may have been. Why would anyone go to the trouble of posting anything if that's all they can manage

Hi Jen,

hey it comes around quick enough doesn't it. You may well be right re buying this stuff in Oz. I'll have to give it some serious thought.

Cheers guys
