I have a very good condition C8 OTA which I am planning to sell for a Fastar (i.e Hyperstar) compatible version. Manufactured around the mid-90's this is an optically excellent scope, for example I have been able to see the 5th and 6th stars in the Trapezium. The corrector plate has a few small spots and scratches, but not to the point of effecting optical performance (in fact I think the previous seller used the term "mint" to describe the optics). Apart from that there are some small paint chips around where the dew cap attaches.
Included:
- Standard Dust Cap + A custom dew shield + 12 VDC power supply.
- Bobs Knobs.
- 6 x 30 finder
- Piggyback mount for a Camera.
- Visual back + Star diagonal (1 1/4")
- Standard 10 and 25mm eyepieces.
The OTA has a full length Vixen style mounting rail.
Price is $800 ONO + Freight (pickup OK). Attached is some pictures of the tube + a couple of CCD photos (Exposure ~15 minutes) with this scope at F10.
