So that's what it looks like close up. Fascinating!
If the Crab Nebula, a supernova remnant, spans 10 light years that makes its actual size much larger than the Dumbbell (~3 ly) or Helix Nebulas (~5 ly), both of which are planetary nebulae. I suppose one would expect this.

Amazing structure and detail in the shot, so don't get me wrong, but does it look a little clipped, too contrasty, and/or oversharpened? Sorry, devil's advocate

EDIT: I take it back. Just saw the bigger version - must've been the smaller/compressed one that didn't look right.
