I took this one a few days ago and have processed it a few times, but this is probably my best effort, considering I could only get 60 mins of 10 min frames, so I went with what I could get. This will be revisited next year, it is an awesome object and I had been dying to have a go at it after working on some of Richard Crisp's data a while ago. This is honestly the limit of my acquisition and processing skills to this point in time.

Bintel N200 8" reflector, guided, EQ6
QHY8 & Nebulosity
Light,Flat and Bias frames stacked in IP3.75
Post processing in CS3

Very nice Graham, Looks like you are getting the hang of the camera very quickly.
It is an interesting section of sky. I may even revisit this one next year with some NB filters and see what comes of it.

Yeah they do both.. Im trying to decide which suits me best at the moment.. Im looking for something cheap, and moderately light that has a bit longer focal length for chasing down galaxies.. Something the TMB 80mm F/6 refractor is not designed to do! 480mm F/L is just not enough sometimes, and other times its just that weee bit too much!

haha I am never satisfied.

Im thinking the F/5 is the way to go.. that way its a tad over double the focal length... Will see how I go!

Alex, I'm actually very happy with the N200 f5. It has a good image scale and the dual speed focuser works very well. I put a JMI motor on mine so I don't have to walk in and out all the time from my warm room. I tried the program that checks your collimation(CCD Inspector, I think it was) and it always comes out tops! It seems to hold collimation reasonably well and has good resolution for a cheap scope. You may want a coma corrector of some sort for the larger fields if you use it that way. Just don't use the fan while your imaging, mine tends to give bad EMI. You may also need an extension tube to get a QHY8 to focus in it if you are using that camera.
