Orion SSAG arrived yesterday!

Yup, it arrived. Chuffed I was too. Bintel Sydney didn't have any in stock, but they kindly checked with their Melbourne store and arranged for one to be sent out to me! Another happy Bintel customer. Item arrived well packaged, the next day. Can't complaint about that.

Going to do a dry run on the weekend with the main OTA, the new guidescope and the SSAG. Just to get a feel for assembling it all. Hoping to test on Saturday night, and also test the new Bahtinov masks too, and the Orion Illuminated reticle I picked up a month ago (haven't used it yet). Want to really get drift alignment down to pat, and hopefully start autoguiding if all goes well and maybe do some imaging. I'm aiming for 3 min subs of M8 (you gotta set yourself goals you know!).

I'm really looking forward to having a good ding dong at astro imaging on Saturday night, weather permitting

How did you go with the SSAG David? I've been very happy with sensitivity of mine. Best thing I ever did to reduce guiding frustrations. Much more sens than the ToUcam.

Alas, didn't get the scope out. Spent most of the arvo shopping with my mum, then came home, recovered from that and then started dinner. By the time I cooked, and we ate and then we cleaned up afterwards, I was knackered, clouds were coming in and I said stuff it. Sunday I slept in, didn't feel 100%, ended up cleaning up my computer's desktop (hundreds of icons, really messy lol), that took a few hours of sorting, burning stuff to cd or dvd etc. Then I decided to clean my desk as well, that was a mess and took a few hours of sorting etc. I mean it was a mess. Both were lol. I'm spotless at work, but my home computer desk is my castle. So, didn't do anything with the scope. I just realise that I don't have anything to connect to the SSAG to the guidescope with. That sounds a wee bit silly, I'd have thought that either the SSAG or the guidescope kit would have had something...
