Hi all cat lovers, I am disabled to the extent that I am lying down 99.99% of the time and I am wounding if a Maine coon cats would be suitable for me to keep me company

If you are looking for a companion pet , so long as you have the ability to do a daily poo collection and have a yard the animal can use as it's toilet , the a small or medium sized ex-RSPCA dog is the best bet.
Call the local RSPCA and they'll likely be only too pleased to help out in getting an animal to you.
I really think people who pay big $ for pet cats and dogs from breaders and pet shops are foolish , when there are so many animals begging for a home and someone to love them at the RSPCA , who just about give the animals away.

I agree with you but dogs are not my thing I love cats especially Maine coons
They're a very big cat. If you're not up to having a great lump of a kitty kat jumping on your tummy, one of the smaller breeds would be advisable.
I got my cat from the Redcliffe Cat and Dog Rescue. Cost me $20 and she was desexed.
We rescued our latest cat from death row a few months back, seems it is mostly Maine Coon.
Small cat, huge tail and a ruff around it's neck, very kittenish despite being 2 years old, but that apparantly is a Maine Coon trait.
Very friendly, but a bit nervous around small kids.
I'm woken every morning by this cat licking/washing my arm, best alarm clock I've ever had!

Vaclav, try ringing your local pet shop or animal shelter, they may be able to help you.
They much prefer to find homes for animals rather than the sad alternative.
Just make sure that they have the cat desexed and give it all it's shots first.
May cost a few dollars up front, but better safe than sorry.
but you wont be needing an Alarm Clock soon
