Stones Throw to a Fantail

I made this photograph late one overcast afternoon.

This photo was taken along the Haast Pass, at a location known as Fantail Falls.

Double-processed RAW for foreground and background elements.

Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM
1s f/22.0 at 17.0mm iso100

Slightly larger resolution available here.

Comments and critique, etc., welcome.

Regards,
Humayun

Awesome!! Fantastic colours.
What's that red thing, on the rocks, to the left of the falls? It's not a hot pixel, just curious as to what it was.

Beautiful work, H. I love the aqua colours in the water.

What do you process your raws with?

How do you combine them after the double processing? Selectively, or with a HDR/tonemap tool?

That's almost a gimme, isn't it? Water spray, mud, dust, nothing seems to stop him. I am very thankful that is the case though, you should see how excited I get everytime there is a new one posted...

You certainly have an eye and a knack for this sort of thing. Very nice, once again.
