Canon camera bulb extension

Hi

I understand that a Canon 400D camera requires a 2.5mm phono plug to
RS232 extension cable to permit computer control of the bulb function.

Could anyone supply me with the pin-outs for this cable?

Cheers Peter

Hi Peter,

I have a 400d and I just use the EOS software that came with the camera however I just thought that maybe I can not answer your question. I can only use EOS to set the shutter to 30' than I have to maunually turn the knob. I was going to add which I will anyway a link to a programable remote that allows me to set the number of exposures so I can walk away from my set up and it will keep shooting.

Peter,

I built mine using the instructions found on Michael Covington's site, here: http://www.covingtoninnovations.com/...onRelease.html

Thanks All for your prompt replies. Humayun, the Covington circuit is just what I want. I will probably build the opto isolator version to give max protection to the camera and besides I have all the bits in my electronic junk box!
Cheers Peter
