Finally got focus! M42

Well finally, everything is getting finely tuned. I was out at ASWA's Tammin site on the weekend for some awsome clear dark skies.

M42

2 x 10min iso 200
9 x 2 min iso 200
9 x 1 min iso 200
9 x 30 sec iso 200
9 x 15 sec iso 200

Taken though a SW 10" dob mounted on a eq6pro guided with a trusty DSE 114mm reflector and DSI 2. Canon 40d-Modded Astronomik UV/IR screwin filter, Baadar MPCC (thankyou greaham).

any words of improvement gladly taken. Hopefully the colouring is right, as im not 100% cirtain of the colour management of the monitor.

Brendan

Wow, there's an awful lot of detail there!
The colours are a bit too vibrant for my taste, but to each their own.
Great job Brendan.

They arnt ment to be so "neon" or vibrant as you say, its the monitor that im working on, its not colour matched, hence i cant see when its just right. I think ill just wait untill i can get ahold of the spyder and colour match my laptop monitor again.

Thankyou very much for the words though

It's a right pain isn't it, trying to get the calibration right between puters.
My images always end up looking too soft and under saturated.

I'll give it a go.
I dropped the saturation down. Not too far I hope.

Very nice detail! One to be proud of. Look forward to seeing the "calibrated" version.

thanks JJJ for that, gave me a bit of a baseline, then i found where the colour matching spyder was hazzar, hopefully this is a bit better, pulled a little bit more detail out near the tendrils.

hehehe im nearly there with the Collimnation ( hehehe) its still just a little bit off, but i wasn't going to fiddle too much with it, all i knew is that the focus was hitting close enough for the night!

Its amazing how much i have learnt since march of this year remembering i got the scope in november 08, mount in jan 09, and the cam march 09 and its just been modified a month or so ago.! heres a photo of my previous best shot of M42
