FAT32 peeker

Gday All

Trying to track down a freeware app that can do an ultra low level peek/display of the mbr / FAT32 tables on a removable drive
I have an app that requires a disk to be formatted as FAT32 then have a file placed as the first file in the FAT table.
If i use my XP lappie to format the disk, all works
If i use my W2K box it doesnt work
Also neither work if i dont use a volume lable when formatting.
chkdsk etc all show the disks as being equal, but they arent.
Sooooooo,
whats out there that can read/display/decode this low level stuff
( Only require it to work on a removable drive, doesnt need to be able to do fixed/bootable disks )

Did a bit of googling.....

Have you tried WinHex? Link: http://www.winhex.com/winhex/

Free to try for as long as you want.
And it's a tiny download too (for those poor unfortunates still on dialup )
